LITCHFIELD, Conn.-- One of four former students who say they were sexually abused by a dean at an exclusive Connecticut boarding school is upset with a plea bargain that calls for 9 1/2-year prison sentence for the educator.
The ex-student's lawyer, Robert Reardon, says his client had expected Robert Reinhardt to serve decades behind bars for the abuse at The Gunnery School.
Reinhardt pleaded guilty Tuesday in Litchfield Superior Court to three counts of second-degree sexual assault and one count of risk on injury to a minor. He pleaded under the Alford doctrine.
That means he doesn't agree with all allegations but acknowledges there is enough evidence for conviction.
Sentencing is set for June 17.
Prosecutors say the other three victims went along with the plea bargain because they didn't want to testify.
